My granddaughter Anya is very ill with a cancer called Neuroblastoma, and as it is a very aggressive cancer she needs a very aggressive Chemotherapy regime to hopefully combat it.

I just had to make something for her on my CNC machine so I made her a dolls cradle, see attached pictures.

Throughout her chemo she has carried her doll and she loves it dearly so I am sure that she will love this litle cradle. My wife Cherie is making some bedding to fit in the cradle.

Like all smart grandparents I have made 2; one for her house and one for my house.

I have attached a couple of pictures of the completed cradles.

The were made from 10mm thick Forex and glued together using "Evo-Stik Serious Stuff Ultimate Strength Adhesive", thanks for the info about it Phil.

I have also attached the dxf file and the V-Carve Pro file.

The slots are set to be cut at a depth of 6mm.

I went with Stars and the Moon on the side because Anya likes them. :D

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :D

Oh, wow..

Keith, that beautiful little girl may have a lot of things stacked against her, but she's got a Granddad whose love brightens the darkest days, and a bit of his determination as well.

I expect great things from her, in the years to come.

Just a quick update, Anya was super impressed with the Dolls Cradle I made for her, she kept putting things into the cradle with her doll all afternoon. Her mom Naomi said it was like when she goes to bed herself, she needs to take lots of stuff into her bed with her.

Wait until she comes over to my house and finds that she has a cradle here too!!!

I bet she will be super surprised!!!!!

Now then what else can I make for her......... ;) :D

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the Aztec file. I finally got it cut. Its carved in 1/2" MDF. I had to change everything over to Metric from Imperial in Mach but it turned out ok. It took about 3 hours. So here it is!!

Thanks again,

Bret

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the kind words!
I was showing this to a couple of friends. So now one wants one for a lazy susan and the other one wants one for a table top. So I will be cutting more so maybe I will add some color.

Thanks again,
Bret
