BobCAD: Protrusion length

BobCAD: Protrusion length

Postby larry104 » Sun Dec 07, 2014 8:18 pm

Hi,

I'm totally lost - when BobCad posts G-Code it seems to compensate all Z coordinates by the tools protrusion length - In the attached example you can see that Z is 2.5 (which is the protrusion length of the tool)
Code: Select all
...
N10 G0 G54 X15.1773 Y8.7188
N11 Z2.7
N12 Z2.6
N13 G1 Z2.5 F100.
N14 Z2.375
...

Since I touchoff Z (linuxcnc) I need a way to turn that off - Unfortunately, the length can't be set to zero. For some strange reason I was cutting parts before and it worked fine (see "correct" g-code below)
Code: Select all
N10 G0 G54 X.1666 Y.0867
N11 G43 H1 Z1.
N12 M8
N13 Z.2
N14 Z.1
N15 G1 Z-.125 F100.

I'm not sure what changed - has anyone an idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.

The problem solved - Never change the setting in CAM-Defaults->Current Setting->Multiaxis Posting->Move List Coordinates. This needs to be set to Machine Compensation in Z only
