Cable Carrier

I was wondering? Has anyone ever been able to incorporate cable carriers for the X,Y and Z axis wiring on the Blacktoe units? If you have, I'd sure like to see some Pics of it.

Hi kabbarnes1951, i´m posting some pics of my cable carrier solution that i was made for my blackfoot 4x8, is quite simple i´ve used one 2"
x1" aluminum profile and sliced it into a bunch of pieces in 30° sides, then i jointed toghether with a stripe of pvc all along(some double face tape to stick it to bottoms of the aluminum pieces) that´s for the bottom side and they are acting like hinges ( is important that you put a couple of rivets in the joints to make sure tha the pvc tape not to loose , on te top (the small face) i used a pair of smaller tapes of graphic translucent canvas (used to print luminous signs) to give strenght and flexibility when is traveling above itself, it Works preety well and the best part of it is that maybe you will spend only $15 bucks (sorry for my bad english).
hope this help and let´s the pics speak for themselves).
greetin´s

arangopar that is a great solution!
Your machine looks very interesting too; is it a custom built one?
What type of boards did you use?
Can you please post some more pictures showing the complete machine?
Thanks

Hi Keith.
Yes it is based on BlackFoot V4.1 from Build your own CNC with some design changes basically aestethics, is made of regular 3/4" MDF with an .40 cal. styrene layer (White one). The whole system (PC, BOB and drivers) are set togheter inside a toolbox http://www.keter.com/products/cantilever-tool-box-22
Also the system has a bending monitor and keyboard support which can be stored beneath the routing table.
here the pics.
greetings

Thanks for the reply and the extra photos and info arangopar :D

That is a great looking machine. :D

I use slotted pieces of mdf flooring to produce a similar type of thing you have made to catch thrown particles. I believe you have used plastic? I will be happier when i have time to finish my dust shoe but the full time job interferes with what I love to do....

The tool box idea is a good one; I used an old perforated steel computer desk as a donor of materials. I have my electronics package neatly setup up in it with lots of fans to keep it cool and dust free.

Thanx Keith.
Yeah the big box fence (coroplast) that i used to catch chips and dust was really helpfull in order to get aluminum rails clean and dust free, but now finally i finish the dustshoe to perform this task and is working pretty well, i will post a couple of pics.
Greetins!.

Is the kind of plástic-foam that is layed down under the carpets dont know the proper name, and Green duct tape in both sides to give some strenght. Maybe not the best solution but it works and very cheap

I used a Cable carrier from Monster its actually for the TV but it works great and is very flexable. it run from my control box to the gantry. The other one i use ia a standard carrier and it rides on the flat part of the ganty.
