DIY CNC Machine - First Build

DIY CNC Machine - First Build

Postby swassell » Tue Mar 22, 2016 2:32 am

I built a CNC a five years back based on the book and info I managed to get off the site. I had the best time building the CNC and am looking for an excuse to build another. The build is shown in one of my YouTube videos I recently made. I have built a lot of signs and items for my children's schools. Here is the video. I will point out my unique vacuum arm that keeps the hose attached to the gantry. Maybe the video will give someone an idea in their build. Hope you like it.

Nice video
If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

Nice looking machine. Always good to view other setups. Everyone has great ideas and are always working space issues in the shop. Thanks for sharing!

The laser concept was pretty interesting. whats the difference in the laser you installed and one of the ones that is on the BlackTooth? on first thought i would guess wattage? maybe the ability to adjust the intensity? I know nothing about lasers which is why i ask. Overall was pretty cool. i wouldn't mind seeing you cut other materials.
