Router control (on/off) via mach3

Router control (on/off) via mach3

Postby bigred8080 » Fri Dec 30, 2016 5:54 pm

I have the BoB with the 10v relay. How do I go about connecting a router (Hitachi m12vc) so I can control the router on/off?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that board in particular, but generally speaking...

1. If the relay can handle the amperage of your router, you would cut up an extension cord and wire the hot line through the relay (neutral and ground just stay connected the way they were). This creates a switchable "outlet" that you plug your router into.

2. If the relay can't handle the amperage, you would get a bigger relay, and use the BoB's relay to trip the bigger relay. That bigger relay would then have the same extension cord outlet wired through it.
If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
