Kevinl,

I have been thinking the same.
I will take some photos in the next couple of days and get them posted.
I'm not bothered how many are requested, if it will get to the cause of the problem.
Thanks.
Rob.

in img_0591, would the blade be to the right.. in the head, is there a servo to turn the blade besides a solenoid to apply pressure..

Kevinl,
The blade (not installed in photo) would be to the left. There is just the
solenoid no servo, that reference was a joke, if you view the first couple
of posts you will understand.

Rob,

Pictures don't tell alot but I still think that it is a power supply issue that is the problem. Voltage drop in output or current regulator somewhere? It would be hard to track down exactly which part is bad from the looks of that Motherboard. Still if you have signal then there is not enough power to pull the head down.

Sorry I do not have more but let us know what your son finds out this weekend if he can make it.

Hello again.
I haven't been on for quite a while.
I've been having recurring health problems for some time, that have lain
me low. On the mend again now though.

A quick update.

I haven't got the cutter sorted, but, I bought another one that was sold as spares or repair
for a very good price. I intended to use it to repair my cutter. However the faults on
the spares or repair one were an easy fix. It is in far better condition than my
original cutter too, hardly seen much use at all. So,I'm up and running again.

I'd like to thank those who tried to help, especially Joe. Thank you.

Merry Christmas.

All the best to everyone for the coming year.

Regards
Rob

Rob366

I was wondering what happened to that project. Really glad that you found another plotter to buy. Now you can move on again.

I TRULY feel your health pain. I have been very healthy all my life even though I don' t work too hard to keep weight down or all of the things we need to do. On December 20 th I had a pretty bad heart attack. They got me to hospital in time for an Angioplasty to save my life. That same night I moved to a major heart hospital for a tripple Bypass. After complications, and two weeks I am finally home and still breathing. It is going to take a while to get back to normal but at least I am here to forward in that direction.

Hopefully your plrobems are well on the mend also. Keep pushing ON.
