Setting up my Ethernet SmoothStepper

Setting up my Ethernet SmoothStepper

Postby GrandpawB » Sat May 23, 2015 10:40 pm

I bought an Ethernet SmoothStepper to use with my Geckodrive G540 controller. I am also using a Dell laptop with Windows 7. I found the setup instructions on-line and followed them step by step. I now have motion, however, the X axis and the Y axis (with it's slaved A motor) are running hot, slow and rough. The Z axis runs smooth and quiet. Can anyone help me to smooth out these motors? Is my Dell laptop causing the problem somehow? :?:

move drive connections (dir / step) to another axis connection just to see if the problem moves or is related to that drive and motor combination.. dont think a ethernet connection on a laptop should be a problem but who knows, laptops do strange things to conserve energy..
